Château Coutet 2017 is the estate's main cuvée made from 4 old grape varieties, namely Merlot with red tails, Bouchet (Cabernet Franc), Pressac (Malbec) and Cabernet Sauvignon, which are 40 years old on average.

Château Coutet - Famille David Beaulieu à Saint-Emilion (33)

Château Coutet has belonged to the David Beaulieu family for more than 400 years, and they still live in it. This singularity is added to that of its terroir which has never been chemically treated.

The property has historically always been farmed using a method now classified as "organic". Thanks to this method, combined with mixed farming (market gardening, orchards, woodland, livestock) that favours original species/grape varieties, it has been possible to preserve rare species of flora and fauna that contribute to making it an exceptional place.

The vines are adjacent to those of the greatest names, such as Angelus and Château Beauséjour-Bécot, among others. Each generation has cultivated the estate with the greatest respect for nature, biodiversity and terroir.

The planting density is approximately 6000 vines/ha. The vineyard is planted with 60 % of merlot, 30 % of bouchet (cabernet franc), 3 % of cabernet sauvignon with a touch of originality of 7 % of pressac (local malbec). The average age of the vineyard is 41 years. The oldest vines are over 80 years old.
