VRE or VꓤƐ in Greek

is a vintage of 100% Malagousia grown organically in Plagia on sandy-clay soil.

The grapes are carefully selected by hand and lightly pressed. Spontaneous fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks.

After fermentation, the wine remains on its lees in vats for 4 months. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration with only a very small dose of sulphite.

VRE arbore de jolis tons dorés et une légère turbidité. Au nez, il est impressionnant et intense, avec des arômes d'agrumes, de vanille, de bois grillé et de petites fleurs blanches.

The palate is very complex with a lively acidity, a balanced astringency and a long finish.

Chatzivaritis Estate in Goumenissa (Greece)

The Chatzivaritis estate has 12 hectares of organic vineyards in northern Greece and offers a range of wines made mainly from endemic Greek grape varieties: Xinomavro, Roditis, Negoska, Assyrtiko!

It all started with love... when Vagelis Chatzivaritis met his future wife Olga Iakovidou in 1981. She was from Goumenissa, a place with a long tradition of winemaking.

As a wine lover himself and a man who also appreciated gastronomy and the simple pleasures of life, he began to make his own wine, to be enjoyed in the company of his good friends and close relatives.

The local story goes that the indigenous Greek varieties of Xinomavro and Negoska from which Goumenissa Chatzivaritis P.D.O. is produced, was the wine of choice of Philip, King of Macedonia, father of Alexander the Great
