Château Franc-Baudron 2021
is the estate's flagship cuvée. It is made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc grown organically on limestone plateaus and clay-limestone slopes.
The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats under temperature control with long maceration periods (3 to 4 weeks) and then aged in barrels for 12 months. A blend of French and American oak barrels, new barrels and up to 6 wines.
Actuellement sur la jeunesse, le Château Franc-Baudron 2021 offre des notes fruitées (cassis, mûre) de café torréfié et d'épices (canelle, poivre) avec beaucoup de puissance en bouche et aux tannins bien présents.
Wait another 5 years and it will develop aromas of undergrowth, leather, cooked strawberries and become much smoother in the mouth.
Chateau Franc-Baudron - Famille Guimberteau-Foray à Montagne (33)
The estate has been in the hands of the Guimberteau family since 1923, and today it is Sophie, Marcel Guimberteau's great-granddaughter, who is at the helm, along with her husband Charles, who worked with the great Alsatian biodynamist Jean-Michel Deiss, and Sophie's brother, Vincent.
The three of them are driving a green dynamic and are converting the entire estate to organic farming, which they obtained certification for in 2013.
At Château Franc-Baudon, everything is done with the family and with respect for the winegrowing traditions, the different terroirs and their typical characteristics, while adding the necessary touch of youth.
