Imperial Farmhouse 33cl from Effet Papillon Brewery
Is one of the brewery's Brett Series cuvées made from a Wallonian Farmhousse II fermentation in vats, which is then sent to red wine barrels for a 6-month maturation.
The barrels were inoculated with a strain of Brettanomyces Anomalus (hence the name of this series of beers). If this bacterium is often responsible for defects in wine, in beer it is used to bring a funky and fruity side.
They then incorporated blood orange and clementine for an additional month of maturation in vats.
Imperial Farmhouse is a rich, fruity beer with expressive notes of blood orange and clementine. The taste of wine is present but remains subtle. This is an original beer!
Effet Papillon is the adventure of Jocelyn and Mathilde who left everything behind and decided to create their own craft brewery in Mérignac, near Bordeaux. If at the beginning they only proposed craft beers in a rather classic way, they then launched the rather crazy bet to link oenology to beer by adding for example brettes in some of their beer vintages or by raising them in old wine barrels, and the result is crazy!
Today they are accompanied by 3 new members: Louise, Matthieu and Maxime. A young, dynamic and complementary team at the helm of one of the best craft breweries in France, and we are pleased to offer you some of their wines.
