Dolç Mataro is a sweet red wine made from Mataró (Mourvèdre). The grapes are harvested when over-ripe, but before they start to ripen. The grapes macerate in whole bunches for 6 months in vats, they are then pressed and the wine is aged for 2 months in French oak barrels.
The nose reveals intense aromas of candied fruit, cherries, dried figs and blackberries. The mouth is very greedy, reminiscent of candied red fruit aromas with a surprising freshness that is all the more present as the wine evolves.
Alta Alella is the result of the family project of Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and Cristina Guillén Soldevila, born more than 20 years ago. It is located between the villages of Tiana and Alella, in the middle of the privileged agricultural area of the Serralada de Marina Natural Park. The vineyards overlook the Mediterranean Sea, which is less than 2 kilometres away, and have been organically farmed since the arrival of Josep Maria. Their aim is to produce transparent wines where the authentic expression of the terroir and climate is reflected in each of their wines. Today the estate covers 50 hectares with typical and even forgotten grape varieties of the region.
