Carignan Noir pays homage to this Languedoc grape variety often used in blending, grown on sandy-clay soils. Vinification is natural and the wine is quickly matured in oak barrels before bottling.
It reveals a harmonious, yet surprising blend of porcini mushrooms, freshly grated coconut, nutmeg and rockrose. The palate is delicate, spicy and with a touch of balsamic (mango).
It is well balanced with silky tannins and a fresh finish.
It will be tasted on a leg of lamb, beef brochettes, zucchini gratin, chocolate mousse.
It is in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon in the small village of Corneilhan, very close to Béziers that Anne-Laure & Marc ROYO took over this vineyard in 2018. The estate was named Émile et Rose, in memory of the first names of the first owners. With a surface area of 27 ha, this vineyard is made up of plots of land on small slopes, with low yields, where carignan, aramon, cinsault and grenache are grown organically.
