Avalanche de Printemps is a cuvée created by Marc Delienne to be bottled early. It is made from grapes of Gamay, the king grape variety of the region, harvested by hand and then sent for maceration in whole bunches in concrete vats using only indigenous yeasts and under temperature control. The vatting time is short only 8 days, then a small maturing in concrete vats only to keep the freshness, the wine will be quickly bottled in order to be able to enjoy it quickly.
Avalanche de Printemps is a well-chosen name for this fresh cuvée that reminds us of the first beautiful days of spring with its notes of red and black berries, with a hint of spices. The palate is super juicy with very fine tannins and great freshness.
Avalanche de Printemps will go well with white meats and vegetarian dishes rich in colourful vegetables.
In January 2015, Marc Delienne bought a few hectares of land in Fleurie in the Beaujolais region of France. He instantly started the conversion of the estate to organic farming in order to obtain certification quickly. The vines are at least 40 years old and up to 80 years old for the oldest, and Marc applies the essential principles of biodynamic viticulture. In the winery, work is done as naturally as possible without yeasting or chaptalisation, and with as little intervention as possible to let the grapes express themselves at their true value.
