A l'Ouest de mon Sud 2019 - Le Petit Clou des Vents - Vin de France (Duras)
Is made from Merlot grapes aged between 15 and 45 years located on the upper slopes of the vineyard on clay-limestone soil. The grapes are picked by hand and destemmed (the only one on the estate to be destemmed), then sent to resin vats for 15 days for maceration.
The grapes are processed by punching down The grape juice and press juice are then blended and finally matured for 8 months in fibreglass tanks.
The name West of my South is a tribute to Sylvain's origins in Biterroise, which he left to settle further west.
The Merlots from the west of my South are very ripe, giving the wine a nice concentration. The material is silky, the mouth is greedy and juicy with quite present tannins.
